Privacy Notice

Information You Submit

A name or location entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Brunswick County Recent Arrests does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. If you send an email or contact message, we retain it as needed to answer and do not share it outside our organization unless the law requires disclosure.

Automatic Technical Data

Normal page requests may record technical and usage details needed to deliver and understand the service.

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent
  • Referring page, when supplied
  • Date and time stamps

Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. You may block cookies through your browser, though some features may then work differently.

How Data Is Used

Collected information supports a limited set of operating needs.

  • Deliver pages and maintain performance
  • Send search requests to the selected partner
  • Measure which resources visitors use
  • Diagnose errors and security issues
  • Display advertising that may reflect interests

Outside Sites and Advertising

Links may lead to BCSO rosters and booking reports, North Carolina court or corrections pages, federal locators, and outside search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination’s privacy terms apply. Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.

Who May Receive Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be received by search partners processing a query, analytics providers, advertising networks, or law-enforcement and government bodies acting under a valid legal order. North Carolina public-record access is governed in part by Chapter 132, but that statute does not replace this notice or each government office’s own privacy rules.

Reasonable Security Measures

We use standard safeguards appropriate for a public website. No internet transmission, server, or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor submitted data so that a deletion request can be reviewed.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, you may ask for a copy of personal data we hold, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or an opt-out from certain processing. Submit the request through the Contacts page.

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised as services or legal requirements change. A revision becomes effective when it is posted here with an updated effective date.
